About Proportion Calculator
Learn what Proportion Calculator provides, how its browser-based math and statistics tools are checked, and where their limits are explained.

Proportion Calculator is a focused educational website for solving proportions, working with ratios, and carrying out common one- and two-proportion statistical procedures. Its purpose is simple: give the result quickly while keeping the formula, assumptions, substitutions, and checks visible enough to inspect.
What the Site Provides
The current site includes a general proportion calculator, a separate ratio and proportion calculator, and a statistics calculator directory for proportion z-tests and confidence intervals. Each calculator is paired with an explanation of its inputs, method, examples, interpretation, and limitations.
These are task-specific tools, not a general-purpose answer generator. The site does not use an AI model to invent formulas or interpret private data. Calculator inputs are processed by code in the browser, and the displayed result follows the method described on the same page.
How Results Are Made Checkable
The basic proportion and ratio tools preserve exact rational values where the operation permits it, then add a decimal representation when useful. The statistical tools show the estimate, standard error, test statistic or interval, condition checks, and a plain-language interpretation. Automated tests cover representative valid, boundary, and invalid inputs; browser checks cover the published routes and common screen widths.
The full approach—including source selection, rounding, testing, and known limits—is documented on the Methodology page. A calculator can perform arithmetic correctly without proving that the original data were collected appropriately, so important statistical conclusions still require study-design and subject-matter review.
Scope and Responsibility
The site is published under the Proportion Calculator name. It does not claim affiliation with or endorsement by the textbooks, universities, standards organizations, or authors cited as sources. No individual expert credential or institutional review is claimed.
The tools are provided for education and general information. They are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, engineering, or statistical advice. For any decision with meaningful consequences, verify the inputs, method, units, and result with an appropriate qualified person or an independent calculation.
Funding and Commercial Relationships
The current build contains no advertising, affiliate links, sponsored placements, paid recommendations, accounts, or subscriptions. If that changes, the relevant disclosure and privacy information will be updated before the new integration is introduced. Aggregate page usage is measured with a self-hosted, cookie-free Umami analytics service as described in the Privacy Policy; it is not used for advertising or cross-site profiling.
Questions and Corrections
Clear error reports help improve the site. Use the Corrections Policy to see what information to include, or visit Contact for calculation, source, accessibility, or privacy questions. The Privacy Policy explains how calculator inputs and contact messages are handled.
